A new standard, verifiable at every step

Selva is a young standard: that is why it is built on public standards (UNI 11646:2021, ISO 14064/14065, United Nations CDM methodologies), was designed to align with the ICVCM's Core Carbon Principles and makes the data of every project available for consultation. Every retired credit has a unique code in the Selva Registry: it is the reference to cite in your sustainability report.

Monitoring every year

Every year a satellite analysis campaign measures the forest cover and biomass of each project and detects disturbances such as logging or fires: oversight is not limited to the moment of the audit.

Independent verification

Before credits are issued, every project is verified by an independent third party, not by the Selva team. The reference standard for verifiers is ISO 14065.

The Selva GHG Standard was designed to be aligned with the ICVCM's Core Carbon Principles: additionality, permanence, rigorous monitoring and verifiable social co-benefits are requirements of the framework. It is based on public standards such as UNI 11646:2021, ISO 14064 and ISO 14065 and on United Nations CDM methodologies.
The value of a credit varies depending on the project, the volume of verified CO₂ and the conditions of the voluntary market at the time of purchase: Selva does not apply a fixed price. Tell us in your request the volume you are interested in and we will propose the available projects and their terms.
Every Selva credit is measured by satellite and verified by a third party. From the dashboard you can follow the project of origin; in the public Selva Registry, every credit sold has a unique code and is marked as retired when you use it to offset. This is the data to include in your ESG report.
Because every credit is based on satellite measurements repeated every year, not on estimates or industry averages, and on a method developed with scientific partners such as UNIFI and the ESA BIC ecosystem. The data is open to consultation: you can show it to whoever reviews your report.
Our end-to-end process is the result of an unprecedented collaboration: the climate vision of zeroCO2, the technology and R&D infrastructure of NTT DATA Italia, the incubation of ESA and the analytical rigor of the remote sensing department of the University of Florence (UNIFI).
Beyond the benefit for the climate, our standard directly funds environmental protection projects in the most vulnerable areas of the planet. We allocate 50% of turnover directly to the local communities and landowners who safeguard the forests.
